Public defamation of a private individual (Diffamations publiques envers un particulier) – The Court of Cassation was able to ensure that the Court of Appeal had accurately assessed the meaning and scope of the impugned remarks, and characterised the defamation - The articles imputing to a philosophy teacher at a lycée antisemitic, pro-Nazi and racist remarks made to teenagers for whom he was responsible as part of his teaching of philosophy are likely to damage the teacher's honour and reputation.
