The Court upheld the legality of a housing allocation practice whereby an Orthodox Jewish housing association effectively allocated social housing predominantly to members of the Orthodox Jewish community. The court ruled that this difference in treatment may be justified under the Equality Act 2010 on the basis of the special needs of this religious community.
