Complicity in crimes against humanity (Complicité de crimes contre l'humanité) - A high-ranking French official (Maurice Papon) who, at the instigation of the leaders of a Nazi criminal organisation, knowingly assisted in the arrest, detention and deportation of persons selected solely on the basis of their membership of the Jewish community, became an accomplice to crimes against humanity – The last paragraph of Article 6 of the Statute of the International Military Tribunal does not require the accomplice to crimes against humanity to have adhered to the policy of ideological hegemony of the principal perpetrators or to have belonged to one of the organisations declared criminal by the Nuremberg Tribunal.
